Something OpenSource apps are reguarly criticized for are their user interfaces. Now, representing both a leap forward in collaborative User Interface design, user feedback mechanisms and blog tools is the GIMP UI Brainstorm site.

This is a visual brainstorm, the channel for everybody to contribute to the GIMP UI redesign process. It is moderated by the GIMP UI redesign team. We do not post mock-ups here ourselves, we ‘listen’ to what you show us and broaden our horizons. |
To give feedback to the group:
- Send an email to gimp.brainstorm@gmail.com
- Put the word “GIMP” in the title of the email
- Attach a picture of what you’d like to see in the application
Interestingly, only the images themselves and no email text is actually posted to the site. I suspect that this artificial limitation is a great benefit in pulling in random wishes and focusing suggestions into something useful.
